Which are the Best DSLR and Mirrorless Camera under Rs.1,00,000
In this blog, I will tell you the difference between Rs.50,000 and Rs. 1,00,000 camera, whatever is the best available DSLR or mirrorless cameras, and also try to clear the confusion between 2 variants in a series.
Before I start with the comparison, I will tell you about the crop sensor bodies only mid-range cameras that come above entry-level cameras. I am very familiar with Canon, Nikon, and Sony brands. So, the comparisons will be between the cameras of these brands only. Also, the cameras which were great 4-5 years back, whether it is DSLR or mirrorless they were probably good those days, but buying those same cameras in today's date may not be a great option in my perspective. So, I will tell you about more recent cameras which are released in the last 3-4 years. There was a time when photography was given a lot of value and people did not have the patience to make videos. Ever since people started sharing videos on youtube, cinematography came, handheld gimbals came into the market and the short film came. People started showing interest in such videos and also, I also started making amazing quality videos including in 4K in our mobile there were a lot of people who started making videos and saving their amazing memories. This has made camera manufacturers think about video and vlogging while they making a camera. Without any delay, I start my topic.
Firstly, let us talk about CANON'S 70D.
This is an exceptional camera that was released in 2013 Canon among these cameras and for the first time included dual-pixel autofocus technology which was revolutionary those days is added. This camera somehow became a default camera for video in mid-range DSLRs. Since 2013, it does not make sense that I consider the same camera. I will be considering through the upgraded versions of the camera 77D and 80D
Canon 77D
and I will try to see what's the difference between these two.
The prices that I am going to mention I have considered the price after including the kit lens (18-55) the price references are from the e-commerce websites. So, 77D with the kit lens it's approximately Rs. 60,000 and 80D with the kit lens, I get for approximately Rs.75,000. 80D was released in 2016 and 77D was released in a year later in 2017, but this cannot be an updated version of 80D. The specifications of these cameras are pretty different. 80D is a bigger, heavy, and robust camera. If you plan to use a big lens and do professional photography and videos there is a possibility that 80D is good for you. 80D's battery is very powerful that is used in high-end cameras as well. Also, imagine if you are making a short film with one sitting behind the camera the person would want to hear the conversation happening between the actors then he will using a headphone. So, a headphone jack has been provided in 80D.
- I want to become clearer why 80D has
been used?
- It's a professional type.
Coming to 77D, it's a small camera, lightweight and good for vlogging, cheaper that 80D there is a difference of 10-15 K. There is a digital image stabilizer, inbuilt obviously digital image stabilizer will not be as good as the optical image stabilizer to stabilize, it may crop your video while doing editing and also the time consumed by trying to stabilize the video can be reduced by the camera by doing the same for you. But definitely, this is also an important feature for sure. If you are a traveler and want to take photos and make videos and if you want a lightweight camera which is easy for transportation also, then you will use definitely the 77D.
Now, let's go to NIKON
There are 2 cameras here D7200 and D7500.
This one D7200 makes good photos and the good thing is about the camera which was released in (2015). I have got 2 card slots but the upgraded version which is D7500, released in (2017) has only 1 card slot. Professionals do expect that there are 2 card slots because all of a sudden when the cards get full, you will not like to take a break in between assignments to change cards and if it doesn't look professional you can miss good moments during weddings. The lens that will be combined with these Nikon cameras to make a combo are not 18-55 lens, they are slightly in the higher range Nikon's D7200 is combined with an 18-140mm lens. Nikon's D7500 is combined with an 18-105mm lens. The approximate value of D7200 is Rs.66,000 and Nikon's D7500's price is Rs.82000 which is close to 20K additional. But, the additional 20K will give you a lot of additional features i.e,
D7500 has a touch screen which has become a necessary feature for today and it as 4K resolution and a flip screen as well and like in 77D Canon, even this has digital Image stabilization 20K additional is more but there are a lot of features. Now you need to decide to go with more features for an extra 20K or save the 20K for additional lenses.
Now, I will move to SONY which has given some nice mirrorless options
This was a good camera but I will not discuss it in this blog. Sony cameras which I am going to discuss usually come with a kit lens 16-50mm.
Firstly we will talk about A6300 which is released in 2016 and is the cheaper among the Sony series and I am going to talk about Along with kit lens 16-50mm the price is Rs.60,000. The newest version of it which is the Sony A6400 which is not even yet available in the Indian market, once that arrives there are chances that A6300 will be priced lower. In 2016, a few months after the release of Sony A6300, another camera was released Sony A6500. There is a huge difference in the price range of A6300 and A6500. I will see if the difference is worth it. A6500 with a kit lens will be way above 90K. So, it will be close to our 1 Lakh border.

Sony A6500
- So, what do we get in this?
We get 5 excess in-built Optical image stabilization (OIS) OIS is the real image stabilization, which is much better than digital IS. Optical IS is better than Digital IS but the one in Sony A6500 people has not been appreciated. So the Specification perspective, this may be a great add-on but for the price difference, it may not be value for the money. The touch screen is available for A6500 even the touch screen has been criticized.
So, the 2 major add-ons from A6300 to A6500 is- Optical IS and Touch screen but with average reviews from the users.
After this, the one released in 2019 that is Sony A6400, I am not sure if it is available everywhere in the Indian market, but a lot of international photographers have done hands-on on this body and a lot of them have given a positive review and I feel the price is going to be lesser than A6500 and it can be around 80K.
- So, what features will you get at this price?
- An attractive feature is -flip
screen
There is slight criticism on this one as it is not completely articulating, but this will be enough to be of help for vlogging. One of the major enhancement of A6400 is- its autofocus system. For me, it is very very important! If I compare 6300 vs 6500 vs 6400 then 6400 has an autofocus system will be the best, not just that there were some criticisms on A6500 which is again enhanced in A6400, but there is an option of time-lapse and I don't know-how important it is for people around?
Some people like it because of its nice feature. Then,
- why is 6500 price is more than 6400?
I think there should be some difference between this-
A6400 lacks inbuilt image stabilization, technically and I could feel image stabilization should have been included. Its a thing about Sony mirrorless cameras, but when I see this practically with A6500, then its IS had never received that great appreciation for that feature and If I look that way, A6400 is not losing anything. So, when I compare 6300, 6500, and 6400, Somehow, I feel buying A6500 now is not good because if I only want to click photos, I am getting it at a very cheaper cost. So, instead of paying 30K extra and buying A6500, I can wait for A6400 and I think A6400 will justify the price. So, we realized that every camera has its specialty. When I see here, based on the prices of the cameras, I am getting Sony A6300 with 16-50 for 60K and for a similar price or If I am getting Canon 77D with 18-55, I will need not be confused about these. I can consider A6300 for photography and 77D for video.
Sony A6400
Then, between 60K and 70K there is Nikon D7200 which comes along with 18-140mm. So, when I compare it with Nikon D7500 which is in between 80 and 90K then D7500 has a lot many new features along with a gap in price. So, I need to see if I actually need those features or if I don't need, then D7200. If I need then D7500 between 70K and 80K, I have 80D which I said was a little robust but if I am going to deal with large professional lenses, then I can use this towards 90K but I am not sure about the price. A6400, I feel this could be the best in the Sony A6000 series and it may come in all kinds of markets in 2-3 months but, the most expensive is the Sony A6500, which comes with 16-50 and if I feel the features of A6500 is worth it. But I personally feel instead of buying this camera on this day, I can wait for A6400 and there is a possibility that I may not have covered all the cameras in this blog, but I have included all those cameras where people have been curious and asking me about the comparisons. and I have also considered the models which are actually famous between 50K and 1Lakh.
